Fangirling

Colson said something today that reminded me of something she said a few weeks ago. We were in the car, listening to the radio. Here's what went down.

Colson: "What's that man's name that's singing?"
Mom: "Um...Usher? I think. Yeah, his name is Usher."
C: "He has a handsome voice.."

Given the dreamy quality her voice took on at that last declaration, I think we can safely say that Colson's first quasi-crush has been Usher.

What reminded me of this was that she asked today about Ed Sheeran's name when "The A Team" was playing today. And when I told her, she told me she didn't want me to laugh at what she was going to say next. After I promised, she said he had a very handsome voice. She then went on to say that Taylor Swift's voice isn't handsome but it's pretty and asked if I could write each of them letters that told them so and put them in the mail. After I explained that we don't know addresses or phone numbers of people we don't know personally, she said, "Well, we'll just have to ask someone that knows them." My four-year-old is a stalker fan.

For Science

Hear a bang in the kitchen...
Mom: "What are you girls doing?"
Colson: "We're using our imaginations for guinea pigs!"

Silly Love Songs

So, Fin comes up to me, singing into one of those echo microphones. Here's here lyrics:

"My love my moooom!
My love my siiiiiister!
My love my daaaad!
My love my kittieeeees!
...
My love my butt!!"

Who needs a Mayan calendar when you've got 4 year olds?

Colson just did a drawing with chalk. She tells me to come see.

C: "Look! I coloured aaaall the times."

It looks almost like a calendar and I take her to mean the seasons.

C: "This...is fall. And this is...snow."

Looks like I'm right. Seasons.

C: "...And this is....happy birthday."

Cute. Her birthday's today. It's (almost, officially) spring.

C: "And this one is zombies!"

Zombies. Look out for summer, people. It's coming.
