Parselnose

Colson, looking into the toilet: "It smells like snakes in here."
Mom: "What? Smells like snakes?"
C: "Yeah."
M: "What do snakes smell like?"
C: "Umm...nothing. Nothing that should be animals."

???

Also, today in little sister land...Fin learns to make Tarzan noises.

Sweet Dreams

Fin said "nite nite" to Colson tonight. Heart. Melted. These moments make my life. <3

Family matters...and so do The Beatles.

So, today in the car Colson requested "Lucy in the Sky with Dinosaurs."

And Finley calls Colson "dada." These girls have their relationship all kinds of confused.

Marriage

Colson: "Who's your husband?"
Mom: "Daddy's my husband. We're married."
C: "Who's my husband?"
M: "I don't know. Who are you married to?"
C: "Finney!"

And Goodwill Towards Men

Dad: "We have one plus another one..." *holds up two fingers* "...and what does that make?"
Colson: "Peace!"

Pocket Change

Colson: "Lemme check in yo pockets! Can I?"
Mom: "Sure."
C: "Whassindere?"
M: "Nothing, I think."
C: "A butt's in there?" *gasp* "A butt is in there!"

I swear she talks about other things too. It's not all butts and wedgies.

Life is good when you're a plush toy.

This is a very short excerpt from what I'm certain, had I been privy to all of it, was a fascinating conversation between my eldest daughter and Stitch.

C: "Do you get wedgies?"
And you must imagine how very coolly Stitch replied: "No, I just have panties."
C: "Oh, that's good."

I'd also like to add that, now that Fin has discovered the "no" head shake, she never fails to make known her opinions whenever Colson is being reprimanded.

Bits of a Jumbled Narrative on Cows

"They wake up and then they sniff the trees." *sniffing the air*

"And then they laugh. The little ones laugh."

"Only cows freak out."

Opus 1

Colson worked on this all day. She started it with Dad this morning (The erased/marked out heads with speaking bubbles ("I'm Happy" and "I'm a bird") are his contribution.) and kept coming back to it throughout the day. I think it's magnificent.

Chess Club

Colson: "What are these?"
Mom: "Pieces to a game called chess."
C: "I want to play that game!"
M: "It's more of a big kid game. I'll teach you to play when you get older though."
C: *sound effects* "I'm getting older..." *sound effects* "Okay! I'm older now! Let's play chess!!!!"

Just wanted to set down the purpose for this blog...firstly, to let everyone know what'll be going on here. And secondly, to establish that I'm not addicted to blogging in general, as this is now the fourth.

So, for all those on Facebook that couldn't care less about how adorably funny my girls are, I'll be posting the cuteness here now. For family and friends who can't get enough of it, and for anyone who feels the occasional Facebook status update is insufficient in exposing said cuteness...and upon the suggestion of Amber, who's jumped ship...here will be a little glimpse into the lives of us. Also, since the computer is always in the same place and pens and paper...er, aren't...it's much more conducive to me actually setting down a record of this ever changing fast-paced phenomenon known as your kids growing up.

In a nutshell, I've caved and here is my mom blog. :)
